QUINCY, Ill.—The Bellarmine University women's basketball team posted their highest point total of the season, but still came up short, as the host Lady Hawks of Quincy University outscored the Knights 105-93 to claim the Great Lakes Valley Conference victory tonight at Pepsi Arena.
The high scoring affair was close throughout the first 30 minutes before Quincy broke open a 77-77 game with a 9-0 run and coasted to  the 12-point victory.
Both teams shot the ball very well with Bellarmine connecting on 51.6 percent of their shots, and the Hawks making 52 percent. The difference of the game was that Quincy converted Bellarmine's 19 turnovers into 35 points. The Knights, meanwhile, only managed to score seven off Quincy's miscues.
Bellarmine's Brittany Edelen established a new career high by collecting 28 points in just 19 minutes of action as the University of Kentucky transfer was once again hampered by foul trouble and exited with her fifth foul with more than eight minutes remaining.

Freshman Jalissa Chatlos also registered a career high with 19 for the Knights. Another bright sport for Bellarmine was sophomore Kylie Brady, who added 19 points and played 33 minutes—in just her second appearance after sustaining a knee injury on Jan. 4.
Quincy (14-5, 5-5 GLVC) was paced by Courtney Shuman's 25 points, and Lindsey Stellflue added 23.
Bellarmine, which fell to 11-9, 4-7 GLVC, takes the court again on Saturday as they travel to Springfield, Ill., to take on GLVC newcomer the University of Illinois-Springfield.
