LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The 12th-seeded Bellarmine University women's basketball team will meet fifth-seeded FGCU at 2:30 p.m. (ET) Wednesday in the first round of the ASUN Tournament at UNF Arena.

FGCU (15-14, 11-7 ASUN) is the defending champion. The Eagles ended the regular season on a high note, collecting home wins over North Florida, 58-55, and Stetson, 67-55, in the last week of play. They also recorded a notable 69-63 home victory over ASUN regular-season champion Eastern Kentucky on Feb. 19.

Guard Sinai Douglas was named third-team All-ASUN for FGCU. She leads the team in scoring at 11.6 points per game while tying for fourth in the ASUN in assists (3.5). Forward Nay Staton is averaging 10.9 points and a team-high 5.5 rebounds per contest.

FGCU holds an 8-0 series lead over Bellarmine, including a 79-40 victory in Fort Myers on Feb. 5 in the teams' regular-season matchup. Sophomore forward Kayce Hyman nearly posted a double-double in that contest for Bellarmine (2-29, 0-18) after registering 14 points and nine rebounds, both of which were team highs.

Hyman tied her career high with 19 points against EKU. She also scored 19 against the Colonels in Bellarmine's first meeting with the ASUN regular-season champion. Hyman has scored in double figures in 11 of the last 13 games and notched at least 13 points in 10 of those outings. She averaged a team-high 12.8 points per game in ASUN play.

Ava Smith has scored in double figures in seven straight games and is averaging 10.1 points per game overall, the team's highest mark among qualifiers. She is coming off an 11-point outing against EKU. Smith ranks seventh in the ASUN in 3-pointers made with 55.

Andrea Chiquemba was honored on the Academic All-ASUN Team. The redshirt junior forward scored in double figures in six conference games, with a season high of 18 points against Queens.
