CINCINNATI—The Bellarmine University women's basketball team wrapped up their exhibition season as they fell 90-46 to No. 5 Xavier University on Saturday afternoon.

Bellarmine was led by Lauren Jones who scored a team high 18 points and grabbed five rebounds while playing the full 40 minutes. Sophomore Jalissa Chatlos chipped in seven points and seven rebounds for the Knights.

The team shot just 26.1 percent from the field as they were playing their second game in two days against a Division I opponent. A highlight for the Knights was free throw shooting, going 14 of15 from the line, including a perfect 6-6 from Jones.

Xavier's Ta'Shia Phillips was the star of the game as she had 19 points and 23 rebounds, including 13 offensive boards.

The Knights will get back into practice mode now as they do not open up the regular season until Nov. 19 when they host the United Electric/Metro Medical Solutions Tip-Off Classic. Bellarmine will take on Lake Erie College on the first day, and the University of Charleston the next day.
