EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Bellarmine University women's basketball team surrendered the first nine points in their game against the University of Southern Indiana, and could not recover in a 76-59 loss on Saturday night at the Physical Activities Center.

Trailing by as many as 20 points early in the second half, Bellarmine cut the Screaming Eagles' lead to five points with 8:39 to play in the contest off a pair of Lauren Jones free throws.  However, the visitors would not get any closer the remainder of the game.

Jalissa Chatlos led Bellarmine in scoring with 16 points off 4-6 shooting from the field, along with a team-high seven rebounds.  Freshman Therese Montano tied a career high with 15 points, including hitting nine of her 11 free throws.

Turnovers continued to victimize the Knights, as the team recorded 23 for the game, compared to Southern Indiana's 14.  The Knights shot a season-low 2-18 (11.1 percent) from behind the three-point arc.

The Knights will take a week off of game action before returning to the floor on Sunday, Dec. 8 with a non-conference tilt with Oakland City University.  Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Knights Hall.
