LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Southern Indiana spoiled the Bellarmine University senior night as the Screaming Eagles shot nearly 62 percent in the final 20 minutes to win 88-71 in a Great Lakes Valley Conference game in Knights Hall.

The first half saw a lot of ties and lead changes with the two teams locking up the score six times and the lead changing hands 10 times. Four points was the biggest lead either team got with Bellarmine hitting that twice and USI once during the first 20 minutes of the contest. The half ended on a 30- foot trey by Kylie Brady which put Bellarmine up by two at the break.

The Screaming Eagles came out in the second half with shooting hands, as they quickly erased the halftime deficit and never looked back, cruising to the 17-point victory.

Bellarmine's two seniors, Brittany Edelen and Destiny Mattingly, finished the game with 10 and five points respectively while combining for 12 rebounds.

The Knights were led tonight by sophomore Kylie Brady, who set a new career high with 24 points. The Elizabethtown native also grabbed three rebounds and dished out three assists while logging 37 minutes.

“We played really well in the first half,” Bellarmine Coach David Smith said after a frustrating game. “When they (USI) come out and shoot 62 percent from the field, that's too tough to beat.”

Southern Indiana was led by Lauren Maneghetti who dropped in 18 points and dished out four assists and guard Ellen Young, who finished the game with 17 points while yanking down eight rebounds.

Bellarmine drops to 16-11, (9-9 GLVC), and Southern Indiana rises to 21-7, (12-5).
