ROLLA, Mo.--The Bellarmine University women's basketball team forced the host Missouri S&T Miners into overtime, but  the Knights fell 62-57 in a Great Lakes Valley Conference game at Billy Key Court.

The Knights kept their hopes alive until Courtney Kemp drilled a 3-pointer to give t he Miners a 5-point lead with just 18 seconds remaining in the overtime period.

Bellarmine's loss drops the Knights to 11-11 on the season with a 6-8 GLVC conference record.  The Miners, ranked No. 7 in the NCAA Midwest Region,  improve to 17-5, 11-3 GLVC.

Both teams shot below 34 percent for the game, and Missouri S&T gobbled up the majority of the missed shots, corralling 63 rebounds to Bellarmine's 32.  The Knights were able to keep pace by controlling the ball. All season long, Bellarmine's Achilles heel had been turning the ball over, but in today's 45-minute affair the Knights committed a season low 12 turnovers.

Bellarmine's Therese Montano led all scorers with 16 and fellow freshman Kylee Hamilton tossed in 15 for the Knights.  Missouri S&T was led by Kemp's 14 points, and Fareedah Washington claimed 23 rebounds for the Miners.

Bellarmine returns to action Feb. 12 as they travel to Highland Heights, Ky., to take on the Norse of Northern Kentucky.
