Box Score LOUISVILLE, Ky. ---The Bellarmine University women's basketball team could not overcome a shooting night that mimicked the weather outside of Knights Hall on Thursday evening as the Knights fell 78-71 to Quincy University in the Great Lakes Valley Conference opener for both teams.

Bellarmine (10-2, 0-1 GLVC) connected on just 27 of 74 shots for 36.5-percent shooting for the game. The shooting was particular icy during the opening of the second half with the Knights hitting just two of their first 19 shots from the field.

The game did not come any easier on the defensive for Knights as they had difficulty handling Quincy's 6-4 center Hannah Weedman, who finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 blocks. A transfer from the University of Evansville, Weedman hit 7 of 13 shots and all four attempts from the charity stripe.

Quincy(3-6, 1-0 GLVC) edged Bellarmine in the battle of the boards 45-44, only the second time this year the Knights have been outrebounded. BU was previously outrebounded in the Cedarville game, which they also lost.

Therese Montano paced the Knights with a season-high 18 points while Rachel Greenwell also reached double-figures with 11. Guard Kylie Brady had an all-around game of 9 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 steals to keep Bellarmine close.

Thursday's loss snaps a nine game win streak for the Knights, who look to bounce back on Saturday afternoon by hosting Illinois-Springfield, tip is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in Knights Hall.
