SOMERS, Wisc. --- Playing the second game of a two game road trip, the Bellarmine women's basketball team couldn't keep pace with the Wisconsin-Parkside Rangers as they fell 70-45 in a Great Lakes Valley Conference game.

Bellarmine (17-9, 7-8 GLVC) fought back from a 17 point deficit late in the first half to pull within 35-30 in the early goings of the second, but Wisconsin-Parkside ran off the next 19 points to put the game away for good.

“It's tough,” said Bellarmine Coach Chancellor Dugan. “We just have to put this one behind us and get back in the gym on Monday and go back to work.”

Morgan Clemons converted one of two free throws to open the game before the Rangers took the lead for good by scoring the next 15 with UWP's Jenna Endisch scoring nine of her game-high 19 in that spurt. In the team's early meeting in Knights Hall, which Bellarmine won 66-60, Endisch struggled from the floor by hitting only 2-of-12 field goal attempts.

After the Rangers stretched their lead to 17 on a Tara Knapstein three with 7:22 to play in the opening period, the Knights closed the half on a 13-6 run to pull within 33-23 at the break. Bellarmine then appeared to find new life by scoring seven of the first nine points in the second stanza, before Parkside blew the game open.

Sophomore Darion Hutchinson paced the BU offense with 16 points on 8-of-11 shooting to go along with 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Clemons had another strong performance down low finishing with 8 points and 6 rebounds.

Endisch was one of five Rangers to reach double-figures as the team shot 28-for-55 from the field. The UWP defense was just as potent as their offense, forcing Bellarmine into 24 turnovers, second most this season.

The Knights will look to regroup quickly as they welcome in Southern Indiana on Thursday night to Knights Hall for a 5:45 p.m. tip. Live stat, video, and audio links will be available on www.BUKnights.com.
