LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- The Bellarmine Knights left no doubt that they would end their three game losing streak on Saturday afternoon, cruising to a 87-57 win over the Pumas of St. Joseph's College.

Bellarmine (17-7, 7-6 GLVC) led from start to end, leading by as much as 34 over St. Joseph's (1-20, 0-13 GLVC).

After struggling to find their shot during the losing streak, the Knights hit shot-after-shot against the Pumas, connecting on 30-of-52 shots for 57.7%. That marks the second highest shooting percentage on the season for Bellarmine, behind their 60.4% performance in the victory over Alabama-Huntsville.

Scoring the first nine points of the game and leading 24-7 after ten minutes of play, Bellarmine led 44-16 at the break with senior guard Rachel Greenwell scoring 10 of her team-high 18 points in the opening period. Her 18 points are just two off her career-high but the Owensboro, Ky. native did set a new career mark by hitting five treys.

The Knights led in similar fashion at the break in the two teams' earlier meeting in Renesselaer, Ind. before the Pumas made a second half push to challenge BU. Coach Chancellor Dugan made sure that didn't happen on Saturday as Bellarmine kept their foot on the gas and never let St. Joseph's get within 25.

Behind Greenwell, Kylie Brady (13) and Darion Hutchinson (11) were the only other players to reach double-figures with Brady also having 7 assists and no turnovers.

Dugan's team also won the battle of the boards, 38-33, with all eleven players that saw action pulling down at least two. Ten of those eleven players found the scoring column, including freshman Nicole Bryant, who scored her first points as a Knight by nailing a three from the left wing in the second half.

Dugan was also pleased with the ball movement that her squad displayed as Bellarmine had 24 assists on their 30 made field goals, also their second highest total of the year.

While the Knights sit in sixth place after splitting their games this weekend, they can make headway next week when traveling to Lewis on Thursday and to Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday. Live stat and video links will be available on www.BUKnights.com.
