ST. LOUIS — The Bellarmine University men's soccer team fell 2-1 to Maryville on Sunday in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.
The loss marked the first time this season Bellarmine (10-7, 8-6 GLVC) has dropped both matches over a weekend. Maryville improved to 7-7-3 overall and 5-6-3 in conference play.
Sam Scoles sank a penalty kick in the 19th minute to give Maryville a 1-0 lead that the Saints took into halftime.
Nate Alonzo bumped the Saints' advantage to 2-0 in the 54th minute with a goal.

Trevor Thompson in the 60th minute.
The Knights had opportunities after that but couldn't deliver the equalizer. BU totaled seven shots, including four on goal. Maryville had 12, with eight coming on frame.

Bellarmine will host Southern Indiana at 6:30 p.m. (ET) on Wednesday at Owsley B. Frazier Stadium in its regular-season finale.
