Knights men's soccer plays to 1-1 deadlock with Panthers

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The visiting Bellarmine University men's soccer team tied Drury 1-1 on Sunday in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.

Senior forward Luke Mocherman scored for Bellarmine (5-7-3, 4-6-2 GLVC) off an assist from sophomore midfielder Magnus Bertilsson. The Knights this weekend tied both Missouri S&T and Drury (9-2-3, 7-2-3), who each entered in the top 4 of the league standings.

Both teams scored in the first half. Bellarmine struck first when Mocherman converted a pass from Bertilsson for a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute. It was Mocherman's fourth goal of the season.

Drury tied it up in the 26th minute when Ivan Borka finished off a corner kick.

Neither team would score thereafter. Bellarmine finished with a 7-1 advantage in shots on goal and 15-12 edge in total shots.

Bellarmine plays Friday at Illinois Springfield and hosts McKendree on Sunday.
