RENNSELAER, Ind.—Behind a huge night from junior
Margaret Horihan, the Bellarmine Knights volleyball team pushed past the Pumas of Saint Joseph's in four sets tonight in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match at Scharf Fieldhouse.
Horihan matched her career high with 28 kills and set a new career mark with 23 digs as the Rockford, Illinois native notched her 12th double-double of the year.
As a team, the Knights really got rolling after in the last two sets. After Bellarmine opened the match with a 25-21 first set victory, the homestanding Pumas squared the contest by claiming the second set 25-23.
Bellarmine then closed with their best hitting games, swinging at a .268 clip in set three and a robust .341 in set four to close out Saint Joseph's 25-20 and 25-16.
With her big match, Horihan raised her kills per set average to 3.74 which leads the GLVC, and her 28 kills are the most in a conference match all season.

Allie Muha also continues to post solid numbers, and with 42 assists tonight, she raised her per set average to over nine and now ranks fourth in the league.
Muha also was highly effective in her attacks against Pumas, tallying five kills in just 10 attempts. The West Chester, Ohio native also came up with 16 digs for her seventh double-double of the year.
Defensively, libero
Jordyn Kuchenbrod continues to lead the league in digs per set, and with 24 on the night, is averaging 6.42.
The Pumas were led my Madyson Anthony's 18 kills while Katie Dugan posted 31 digs.
Bellarmine improves to 15-8 overall and 4-7 in league play. Saint Joseph's falls to 6-17, 2-9 GLVC.
The Knights will step out of conference for their next match as they travel to Cedarville, Ohio on Tuesday to take on the Cedarville Yellow Jackets, one of the top teams in the Great Midwest Conference.
