LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Missouri-St. Louis scored early in the first half and made it stand in a 1-0 victory over the Bellarmine University men's soccer team Sunday at Owsley B. Frazier Stadium in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.

Pat Ries intercepted a pass and scored on a breakaway goal in the 13th minute for Missouri-St. Louis (3-1, 2-0 GLVC). It was his fourth goal of the season. Bellarmine (2-2-1, 1-1) was shut out for the first time this year.

The Knights had their chances, but Jack Filla amassed six saves for the Tritons, none more impressive than when he sprawled out in the second half to bat away a shot by junior forward Joe Workman.

Bellarmine led the shot count, 12-6, and had a 9-2 advantage on corner kicks.

Bellarmine plays next weekend at Truman State and at Quincy.
