LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University volleyball team suffered its first home loss on Friday night, dropping a 3-1 decision to Wisconsin-Parkside in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match in Knights Hall.

The Knights rolled to a 25-12 first set victory, but the visiting Rangers rebounded to pull out close wins in the sets two and three (25-23, 26-24) before closing out the match with a convincing 25-15 victory.

After the Knights hit .542 in the opening set, Wisconsin-Parkside responded with excellent blocking the rest of the way to hold Bellarmine to under .100 hitting in the final three games. The Rangers out-blocked the Knights 17-4 and outhit Bellarmine .176 to .120 for the match, despite opening with a negative attack percentage in the first set.

Bellarmine's Katie Adams was the Knights' most potent offensive threat, finishing with 14 kills and a .250 hitting percentage.  On the other side of the net, Lexie Callaway led the Rangers with 11 kills.

Defensively, Bellarmine libero Jordyn Kuchenbrod recorded her sixth match of the season with 30 or more digs, totaling 31 against UWP.  Her counterpart, Annie Leo, notched 24 digs for the Rangers.

The loss drops Bellarmine to 10-2 overall and 1-2 in GLVC play. The Rangers improve to 4-7, 2-1 GLVC.

The Knights return to action Tuesday night at Southern Indiana.
