INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis scored inside the first 10 minutes against the Bellarmine University men's soccer team, and the Greyhounds made that early goal stand up in defeating the visiting Knights 1-0 on Sunday in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.
Bellarmine (5-2, 3-2 GLVC) was shut out for the second time this season, both coming in its two conference road matches. Indianapolis improved to 6-2 overall and 5-1 in the GLVC.
The lone score of the match came in the eighth minute, as James Jenkins converted a feed from Benjamin Sierra for his fifth goal of the season.
Indianapolis finished with a 14-11 advantage in shots, including 5-1 on frame. The Knights did take eight corner kicks to the two of the Greyhounds.
Bellarmine plays Friday at Wisconsin-Parkside and Sunday at Lewis.
