SOMERS, Wisc. — The Bellarmine University men's soccer team fell 2-1 Friday to Wisconsin-Parkside in Great Lakes Valley Conference play at Wood Road Field.
Sophomore defender
Chris Hunt scored his first collegiate goal for Bellarmine (5-3, 3-3 GLVC), while sophomore midfielder
Mark Lanham and freshman midfielder
Micah Linscott had assists against the Rangers (3-6, 3-4).
Lexi Prpa scored less than two minutes before halftime to stake Wisconsin-Parkside to a 1-0 lead. A steal by the Rangers and defensive lapse by the Knights allowed Abraham Kanneh a one-on-one look that he sank in the 63rd minute that broke a 1-1 tie and became the game-winner.
In between, Bellarmine scored in the 60th minute on a splendid sequence where Lanham passed ahead to Linscott, who immediately tapped to Hunt on the right side, where Hunt ripped in a shot inside the far post.
Wisconsin-Parkside finished with an 11-5 advantage in shots, including 5-2 on frame. The Rangers attempted all five of the match's corner kicks.
Bellarmine plays Sunday at Lewis.
