LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Hillsdale defeated the Bellarmine University men's tennis team 4-0 on Saturday at the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex.
Hillsdale (6-1) gained the doubles point after defeating Bellarmine (3-4) at Nos. 1 and 2. Knights sophomores
Evan Bottorff and
Nick Johnson captured a 6-2 victory over Gabe Katz and Freddy Heegan at No. 3.
Hillsdale clinched the match after winning at Nos. 1-3 singles. As a result, Nos. 4-6 singles did not finish their matches.
"It was another match where we played well and hung right with the opponent, but we have to start turning these 50/50 matches into victories," Knights Coach
Tyler Worley said. "This opponent just beat No. 22 in the nation Ferris State, and yet we were close on every court — we just have to learn to finish."
Bellarmine will host Alabama-Huntsville on Feb. 24 at Advantage Tennis and Fitness.
