LOUISVILLE, Ky. — NAIA power Indiana Wesleyan defeated the Bellarmine University men's tennis team 7-0 on Friday at the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex.
Sophomore
Evan Bottorff pushed his opponent to three sets at No. 2 singles, while sophomore
Sam Rueff was edged at No. 3. The Knights (3-8) also played Indiana Wesleyan (20-7) to 6-4 at Nos. 1 and 3 doubles.
"I am actually really encouraged even with the loss," Knights Coach
Tyler Worley said. "They are a top NAIA team, and we came out and hung with them the entire way. Evan had a great match that slipped away from him at the end, but it was cool to see him play against his sister, who is their assistant coach."
Bellarmine will play at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hanover.
