HANOVER, Ind. — The visiting Bellarmine University men's tennis team captured a 6-1 victory Saturday over Hanover.
Bellarmine (4-8) earned the doubles point, sweeping the three matches in the process, and secured victories in five of the six singles contests against Hanover (2-5).
All three Knights doubles team won by a 6-4 score. That included freshman
Caleb Buckman and sophomore
Sam Rueff at No. 1, sophomore
Nick Johnson and freshman
Noah Neuhauser at No. 2, and sophomores
Evan Bottorff and
Joseph Naville at No. 3.
In singles play, Bottorff and Rueff won in three sets at Nos. 2 and 3, while freshman
Michael Staff, Naville and Johnson were victorious in straight sets at Nos. 4-6.
Bellarmine will play at 3 p.m. (ET) Friday at Southern Indiana.
