EVANSVILLE, Ind. — The Bellarmine University men's tennis team opened Great Lakes Valley Conference play with an 0-7 loss to Southern Indiana on Friday at the Evansville Tennis Center.
Bellarmine (4-9, 0-1 GLVC) was victorious at No. 1 doubles against USI (7-10, 1-0) as freshman
Caleb Buckman and sophomore
Sam Rueff defeated Parker Collignon and Martin Linares 6-2, but the Screaming Eagles claimed the point after winning at Nos. 2 and 3.
Sophomore
Evan Bottorff, at No. 2 singles, and sophomore
Joseph Naville, at No. 6, pushed their opponents to tiebreakers.
"We played really well in some spots but just couldn't put it all together today," Knights Coach
Tyler Worley said. "We played them much closer than last year and are definitely improved."
Bellarmine plays another GLVC match at 11 a.m. Saturday at the University of Indianapolis.
