CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — A program-record five Bellarmine University players have been recognized as All-American Scholars by the Women's Golf Coaches Association.

Earning the acknowledgement for the Knights were seniors Margaret Brown, Savannah Trussell and Bailey Wiegandt, sophomore Olivia Pennybaker and freshman Caroline McCrorey. Boasting five award winners was a history-making feat; since 2008, the Knights had four players earn the All-American Scholar distinction on four occasions, including the previous two seasons.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team is a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.

With her latest accolade, Trussell capped a career sweep of earning the citation. Brown and Wiegandt have been honored three times apiece, Pennybaker received notice in both her seasons and McCrorey wrangled a nod in her debut season.
