LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Central Michigan rallied from a multiple-goal deficit with four straight scores in edging the Bellarmine University field hockey team 4-3 Friday at Trager Stadium.

Grace Dukes notched her first goal as a Knight, and sophomore forward
Amber Hofenk Jerembo also collected a goal against Central Michigan (1-0).

Breanna McWhorter amassed nine saves, just one off her career high.
It didn't take Crump long in the contest to record her first college score. In the third minute, she swatted in a pass from Sturgeon for a 1-0 lead. Hofenk Jerembo boosted the advantage to 2-0 in the 21st minute when she converted a pass from Rastigue.
Central Michigan delivered its first goal a little over a minute later off a penalty corner, and Alice O'Hagan's score initiated a streak of four unanswered goals for the Chippewas.
After halftime, Central Michigan scored three goals in a span of just over four minutes. In the 51st minute, Kate Biglin knocked in a rebound to even it up at 2-2. Biglin then found Lauren Buffington in front of the cage for the go-ahead goal, and less than a minute later, O'Hagan sank another shot, this time from the top of the circle, for a 4-2 advantage.
Bellarmine then scored less than a minute later as Dukes took a feed from Crump off a penalty corner and drilled a shot to cut the Knights' deficit to 4-3.
With 30 seconds left, Bellarmine got off a solid shot off a penalty corner, but Katie Maxim made her sixth save to secure the win.
Bellarmine will host Central Michigan again at 4 p.m. (ET) Saturday.
