EVANSVILLE, Ind. — The Bellarmine University men's soccer team rallied from a 1-0 deficit to defeat Evansville 2-1 Thursday at McCutchan Stadium in its season opener.

Micah Linscott tallied the goals for Bellarmine (1-0) while senior midfielder
Greg Fischer and junior midfielder
Jackson Snowden registered assists against Evansville (0-1).
After a scoreless first half, Evansville struck first in the 53rd minute as Pablo Guillen converted on a penalty kick.
Bellarmine capitalized off a set piece in the 57th minute. Ballas scored off a Fischer free kick to knot it up at 1-all.
Bellarmine scored its second consecutive goal in the 84th minute. Snowden lofted a long cross that deflected off a Knight to Linscott at the top of the box. The ASUN All-Conference performer took a dribble to the right before rifling a shot inside the far post for a 2-1 lead. It was Linscott's first goal of the season and 27th of his career, including his seventh game-winner.
Bellarmine held on from there to capture the win in its season debut. It was a tight and evenly played match, as the Knights had a slight 9-8 advantage in shots with both teams putting four on frame.
