NASHVILLE, Tenn.—The Bellarmine University volleyball team lost in straight sets to a strong Florida Gulf Coast University squad on Saturday, the second day of competition at the ASUN Conference "crossover" hosted by Lipscomb University at Allen Arena.
The Knights were sweep victims for just the second time this season as the Eagles won 25-19, 25-13, 25-22, posting significant advantages both offensively and defensively. FGCU outhit Bellarmine .217 to .026 and enjoyed an 11-1 edge in team blocks.
Bailey Venard was again a bright spot for Bellarmine, and her 12 kills were a match high. Juliana Lentz led the Eagle attack with 11 kills, but perhaps had a bigger impact on defense where she had nine blocks.

Anna Lococo registered a match-high 15 digs while Dana Axner posted 13 to lead FGCU.
The Eagles improve to 10-4 overall and are 2-0 in ASUN play after sweeping Lipscomb yesterday to open the Crossover. The Knights slip to 4-9, 0-2 ASUN.
Bellarmine is back in action tomorrow as the ASUN Crossover wraps up at Lipscomb's Allen Arena. The Knights face Jacksonville University at 4 p.m. (3 p.m. CT).
