LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University men's soccer team closed out its nonconference slate with a scoreless draw against IUPUI on Tuesday night in Owsley B. Frazier Stadium.
Bellarmine (6-3-5) notched a tie for the fourth straight match but did extend its Division I-era program-record unbeaten streak to eight games. IUPUI (4-5-6) is no stranger to stalemates either after recording its sixth deadlock, but like the Knights, the Jaguars maintained an impressive unbeaten streak, pushing theirs to four.
There was a downpour before the match, and the driving rain continued throughout the first half. The Knights and Jaguars attempted to navigate the soggy conditions, but offense was hard to come by for much of the match.
Bellarmine finished with an 8-4 advantage in shots. IUPUI had a 4-1 edge at halftime, but the Knights registered all seven of the attempts taken in the second half. Dangerous chances were mostly at a minimum in the match.
Bellarmine's defense amassed its sixth shutout. Senior goalkeeper
Matthew Brozovich collected his fourth clean sheet.
Bellarmine will return to ASUN action by hosting Queens at 7 p.m. (ET) Saturday.
