HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Talk about saving your best for last.

On Saturday in the ASUN Championship, five Bellarmine University women's cross country members posted all-time top-50 performances in the 5k and the Knights met their goal by placing seventh out of 14 at John Hunt Park.

Every outing by senior Emma Wells this season was etched into the program record book, and her most impressive came in the conference meet as she placed 25th overall while her 17:43.7 ranks eighth all-time. Wells also climbed to fourth on the performance list (measures PR).

Senior Ellie Schroeder also went out with a bang, registering the 17th-fastest time in program history at 18:00.8 and rising to eighth on the performance list. She placed 43rd overall.

Sierra Oesterling capped her promising freshman campaign by placing 57th in 18:22.5, which ranks 38th all-time and moves her up to 11th on the performance list.

Junior Anna Wells finished 64th and her 18:29.7 ranks 46th in program history. Sophomore Trisha Sexton, who placed 67th, rounded out Bellarmine's top 5 and tied for 48th all-time by clocking an 18:32, which also ranks 13th on the performance list.

Senior Chloe Powell placed 77th and her 18:45.9 ranks 19th on the performance list. Junior Justice Pohlman-Singleton (83rd, 19:13.9), sophomore Hannah Ellis (93rd, 19:43.8) and senior Allison Tripure (111th, 21:21.8) also competed for the Knights.

Lipscomb (35) captured the team title followed closely by Liberty (45).

"The women executed the game plan to perfection," Coach Chase Broughton said. "With 1 mile to go, they were 12 points back of Stetson and closed hard to finish seventh in a very deep conference. Emma Wells set the tone up front and the rest of the women followed."
