LYNCHBURG, Va. — The Bellarmine University men's and women's swim teams competed began their second CCSA Championships on Wednesday at the Liberty Natatorium.
On the women's side, the 4x50 relay team of
Maya Sorensen,
Elizabeth Schrenger,
Rachel Walker, and
Grace Lough finished eighth.
Anna Holt and
Avery Witcher highlighted individual performances, finishing 20
th and 24
th respectively in the 500 yard freestyle.
The men's team featured multiple strong performances, including a fifth place finish from
Daniel Sims in the 200 IM. His brother,
Matthew Sims closely followed in seventh place.
Brandon Thomas was BU's top swimmer in the 500 freestyle placing 11
th, while William O'Connor earned ninth place in the 50 freestyle.
Bellarmine's 4x50 relay team of
Adham Howaidy,
Andrew Nguyen,
Jacob Dray, and O'Connor raced to fifth place.
Thursday will mark the second of the four-day event.
