NASHVILLE, Tenn. – In the first of four straight road matches, Bellarmine men's tennis fell 7-0 at Belmont on Friday.
Following a home victory against Tennessee State, the Bruins proved to be too much for the Knights at the Belmont Tennis Center. Belmont was victorious in each singles match, while Bellarmine's closest effort came from
Paul Reynolds. Reynolds battled in his first set against Jack Randall at no. 3 singles, but Randall collected the set one win 7-6 (3). He then won set two 6-3.
In doubles,
Jack Batchelor and
Cole Groetsch were down just 5-4 to Diego Castro and Tomas Luis at no. 1 singles when the other matches finished.
Bellarmine stays in Tennessee this weekend as they head just 45 minutes southeast to Murfreesboro for a matchup with Middle Tennessee State on Sunday. The action begins at 2:00 p.m. ET.
