FORT MYERS, Fla. – Bellarmine men's tennis came up short against Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday night, falling 7-0 to the Eagles in its ASUN-opening match.
FGCU was picked to finish second in the ASUN pre-season poll and moves to 8-5 this season.
The Eagles were victorious in each doubles match, with the closest effort for the Knights coming in the no. 2 slot.

Xavier Ecarma fell by a final score of 6-3.
FGCU also swept the singles matches with victories from Juan Montes, Marcelo Sepulveda, Randy Wilson, Gugli Stefanacci, Juan Lopez, and Max Damm. The no. 1 match between Montes and Bellarmine's
Cole Groetsch was very tight, but Montes came out victorious 6-4, 6-4 over Groetsch.
The Knights continue their road trip and conference play at Kennesaw State on Sunday with action beginning at 2:00 p.m. The Owls were picked to finish fifth in the ASUN pre-season poll.
