LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Stetson topped the Bellarmine men's tennis team 7-0 Thursday evening in the Knights' second to last match of the season.
Despite an early doubles victory from
Cole Groetsch and
Paul Reynolds in the no. 1 slot, the Knights were unable to overcome a strong Stetson performance. Sven Thiergard and Ervin Eminefendic earned a 6-1 win at no. 2 doubles, while Tim Gennes and Josh Laka were victorious in no. 3 doubles, giving the Hatters the doubles point.
In singles action, Diogo Marques, Tristan Dumas, Thiergard, Fabian Penzkofer, Tim Gennes, and Sami Ozzor came out with wins 1-6 respectively. Batchelor played a tight second set with Duman, but fell 6-1, 6-4 in no. 2 singles.
Bellarmine concludes its season on Sunday with its Senior Day match versus North Florida. The match will take place at 2:30 p.m. at Kentucky Country Day.
