ATLANTA, Ga. - The ASUN Conference recognized its 2021-22 Winter Winners for Life team Friday. The team is composed of one student-athlete from each of the 12 institutions and honors those who display excellence on and off the playing surface. The Winners for Life team honors a campus citizen that is respected as one who shares and/or demonstrates the ASUN Core Values: Education, Honesty, Student-Athlete Experience, Fairness, Health, Ambition, Respect, Diversity, Inclusion, Leadership, Responsibility, and Sportsmanship. To be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must have competed in the current academic year in an ASUN sponsored sport and be in good academic standing at his/her university.

A 2022 Men's Basketball All-Academic Team selection, Juston Betz played the second-most minutes per game by any student-athlete this season with his 34.8 average for the ASUN Champion Bellarmine Knights. He ranked third in the conference for rebounds per game (7.1) and sixth in steals per outing (1.4) while also earning a position on the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team. The graduate student holds a 4.0 GPA in pursuit of his MBA while also being part of the Bellarmine Athletics Advisory Board and serving as the president of Bellarmine's chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
 
Hudspeth, a senior Psychology major, has been on Central Arkansas' Dean's List (3.5+ GPA) three times and the Presidential Scholars List (4.0 GPA) twice. She is also a 2022 UCA Purple Society inductee, which recognizes academic excellence, student leadership and community service. The Sugar Bear guard has volunteered with numerous organizations, including Bear Essentials Food Pantry, Boys & Girls Club, Conway Ministry food pantry and more. She played in 28 games this year, started 23 and averaged 5.6 points per contest as a team captain.
 
Sophomore Michael Moreno holds a 3.42 GPA in pursuit of his Business degree at Eastern Kentucky. He is vice president of EKU's SAAC, a member of the EKU FCA and is captain of the Colonels' Men's Basketball team. He saw action in all 31 of EKU's games this season, making 22 starts while averaging 11.7 points per game, 5.6 rebounds per game and shooting 44% from the field. He also ranked fourth in the ASUN in total offensive rebounds (66), eighth in total steals (41) and 11th in total rebounds (175) as EKU completed its first season as a member of the league.
 
Tyra Cox, an MBA Graduate Student and Management major at FGCU, carries a 3.63 GPA while being a starter for the nationally-ranked Eagles who captured their ninth ASUN Championship this season. She has done all this while being in leadership positions such as a Women's Basketball SAAC representative, Diversity & Inclusion Committee Chair and a member of Eagles Against Injustice. Cox has also accumulated approximately 105 hours of community service at organizations such as the Midwest Food Bank, Orange County Public Schools, Eco Voice and Lee County Homeless Coalition. The guard made 24 starts this year while putting up 3.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.3 steals per game.
 
Jacksonville's Adja Sackor boasts a 3.57 GPA in the Leadership and Learning master's program after she completed her Bachelors of Science in Education for Instruction with a minor in Kinesiology last spring 2021. She currently serves as the graduate assistant for Intramural & Club Sports for Campus Recreation and Wellness. At the ASUN Indoor Track and Field Championship, Sackor took home gold in the Triple Jump with a mark of 13.13m while landing a mark of 5.95m to place third in the Long Jump.
 
Bethany Davis is a member of the Women's Track and Field program at Jacksonville State and holds a 3.64 GPA as a Psychology major. Davis is currently on the Gamecock Pride Scholarship and she has been accepted into the MS in ABA program at JSU. She spends her free time volunteering for different organizations including The HOPE Reach Academy (a South Carolina school for autistic children), Hatcher Garden (a South Carolina soup kitchen) and Cedar Shoals Baptist Church and Grace Fellowship Church. At the ASUN Indoor Track and Field Championship, she placed seventh in the Pole Vault with a personal-best mark of 3.47m.
 
Amani Johnson, a three-time selection to the ASUN All-Academic Team, is a senior captain on the Kennesaw State Women's Basketball team who is majoring in Business Administration and Accounting while serving as SGA President. The former SAAC President has a 3.91 cumulative GPA and was the fourth-highest scorer in the ASUN at 13.1 points per game and netted the second-highest point-per-game ratio in conference play at 13.8. She also played the most minutes among in the ASUN, logging 108 minutes more than the next player. The Owl played an average of 38.28 minutes per game, the third-most playing time in the nation.
 
Liberty's Mya Berkman was selected as the ASUN Women's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the 2021-22 season. She carries a 3.95 GPA while pursuing a master's degree in Accounting and was the first ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year in program history. The junior is a SAAC member, serves as Chair of the SAAC Community Outreach and helps organize and coordinate community service. The First Team All-ASUN selection finished third nationally in field goal percentage at 66.3. At the end of the season, Berkman ranked 21st in program history for scoring (920 points) and 13th for rebounding (643 rebounds) while helping Liberty earn its first Postseason WNIT victory in history.
 
Senior Jonathan Imes became the ASUN's first-ever four-time 400m event winner at the ASUN Indoor Track and Field Championship while also earning runner-up in the 200m for Lipscomb. Imes was a unanimous selection to the All-Academic Team after earning a 3.18 GPA majoring in Biology Teaching. The Maryland native also takes part in various community engagement activities as he volunteered at Medstar Hospital, helped run the after-school program at Croft Middle School in Nashville, was the volunteer Track and Field coach at St. Bernard Middle School and participated in after-school tutoring at Croft Middle School.
 
Hina Suzuki, a senior Interdisciplinary Studies major, holds a 3.43 GPA while being a member of the North Alabama Women's Basketball team. She suffered a season-ending knee injury 15 games into the 2020-21 season but then rebounded to start 20 straight games for the Lions this year. The point guard has helped out off the floor with numerous programs including Kilby Reading, Jackson Heights Church of Christ, Safeplace, Backpacks for Children and more. Suzuki averaged 7.8 points and 2.3 rebounds while leading the team in assists (131) and finishing second on the squad in steals (30). She shot 81.3% from the free-throw line (61-of-75) and finished fourth in the ASUN Conference in assists per game (4.54) while helping UNA to a second-place finish in the West Division.
 
A member of the Women's Track and Field program at North Florida, Kaley Petrosky is pursuing her Masters of Business Administration after graduating Summa Cum Laude in December with a Business Administration degree. Petrosky serves as a SAAC representative for the Ospreys while also being a representative on the UNF Hazing Prevention Committee which is an outreach subcommittee. She finished sixth in the High Jump at the ASUN Indoor Track and Field Championship with a mark of 1.61m. During the season, she posted a top-10 finish in the High Jump at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational with a season-best mark of 1.64m which was good for ninth.
 
Tatiana Streun is a Graduate Student in Business Administration and a captain of the Stetson Hatters Women's Basketball squad. She has done volunteer work at memory care facilities and served as a student greeter for philanthropic events. In the classroom, the Bellevue, Wash., native has a 3.78 overall GPA and was a three-time Academic All-Conference selection before joining the team. Streun played in 31 of 32 games in 2021-22, starting 28, and was selected as the ASUN Newcomer of the week twice. She ranked second on the squad with 128 total field goals made on 281 attempts (45.6%) and connected on 38% of her 3-point tries, which was best on the squad. Streun was named the ASUN Newcomer of the Year and was a Second Team All-ASUN choice after putting up 11.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per contest.
