No. 10 Buckeyes roll to victory over Bellarmine in nonconference action

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State Buckeyes proved why they're ranked No. 10 in the country, overwhelming the visiting Bellarmine Knights 7-0 in a nonconference field hockey game at Buckeye Varsity Field on Sunday afternoon.

The Knights were on the short end of a 34-1 shooting disparity as the Buckeyes dominated play all 60 minutes.

Bellarmine goalkeeper Kailey Workman was peppered with 18 shots on goal, making nine saves with sophomore Maria Bonwell recording her first career defensive save and Alexa Rastigue making her fifth DS of the season.

Ohio State also enjoyed a 13-1 advantage in penalty corners with Bellarmine's lone opportunity resulting in the team's only shot.  Anna Crump put a shot on frame, but it was swallowed up by OSU goalie Abby Danson.

The Buckeyes, who improved to 13-5, were paced by Brenna Bough with three goals.

Bellarmine drops to 7-9 on the year and will close their season on Friday at 6 p.m. when the Knights host Kent State in Mid-American Conference play
