KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Bellarmine University men's and women's swim teams embarked on their third CCSA Championships on Wednesday at the Jones Aquatic Center.
On the women's side, the 200 medley relay team of
Lauren Diercks,
Alexandra Pierce,
Anna Holt, and
Grace Lough finished 11
th (1:46.84).
Pierce highlighted the individual performances for the women, finishing 20th in the 200 IM (2:07.06).
The men's team featured multiple strong performances, including a fourth place finish from
Sam Jones, who just missed the podium in the 500 freestyle (4:31.27).
Will O'Connor had the second highest finish of the day, swimming to 10
th place in the 50 freestyle (20.32), while
Jacob Dray nabbed 12
th place in the same event (20.61).
Kenton Whiteley placed 12
th in the 200 IM (1:51.86).
Brandon Thomas claimed 15
th in the 500 freestyle (4:38.55), while
Liam Connelly placed 16
th in the same event (4:42.16).
Greyson Williams earned 16
th in the 200 IM (1:53.95), and
John Paul Metzner placed 16
th in the 50 freestyle (21.01).
Bellarmine's 200 medley relay team of Whiteley, Metzner, Dray, and O'Connor placed fifth (1:30.83).
Thursday will mark the second of the four-day event.
