KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Bellarmine swimming wrapped up day two at the CCSA Championships in Knoxville on Thursday evening.
Jacob Dray highlighted Thursday's performances, as the senior earned silver in the 100 butterfly (47.44). With Dray's top-three finish, this marks the third consecutive year a men's swimmer has reached the podium for Bellarmine.
Matthew Sims claimed gold in the 200 butterfly in 2021 and nabbed silver in the same event in 2022.
John Paul Metzner earned ninth in the 200 butterfly (48.97), while
Logan Jackson finished 15th (50.26).
Brandon Thomas raced to a ninth place finish in the 400 IM (3:58.54), while
Liam Connelly placed 12th (4:03.09), and
Cason Henderson placed 13th (4:04.08) in the same event.
In the 200 freestyle,
Greyson Williams finished 15th (1:41.95), while
Sam Jones claimed 16th (1:42.00).
On the women's side,
Caroline McMillin placed 29th in the 400 IM (4:37.41), while
Johnnise Garcia was right behind in 30th (4:37.75), and
Luiza Bonardi placed 41st (4:49.21).
Liz Stevenson placed 36th in the 100 butterfly (1:01.49), while
Mackenzie Conger placed 38th (1:02.03). In the 200 freestyle,
Grace Lough finished 42nd (1:58.07).
Both teams will hit the pool again on Friday in day three of the Championships.
