LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Coach
Tim Chastonay has revealed the Bellarmine University men's soccer team's full 2023 schedule.
Bellarmine, which went 6-4-8 last season while making its third straight trip to the ASUN Tournament semifinals, is set for a 15-game regular-season slate that includes five home contests and seven conference tilts.
Bellarmine will be racking up the mileage this season. Five of the Knights' initial six games and eight of their opening 10 are on the road.
In addition, Bellarmine will prep for the season with three exhibitions, including a pair at Owsley B. Frazier Stadium. The Knights will host warm-ups against Oakland City (9-7-5 in 2022) on Aug. 11 and Brescia (6-11-1) on Aug. 14 before a final exhibition at Xavier (9-2-7) on Aug. 18.
Bellarmine's road-heavy 2023 lineup immediately establishes the theme with a three-game stretch at Evansville (8-5-6, MVC Tournament runner-up) on Aug. 24 in the season opener, at Louisville (9-6-3, NCAA Tournament berth) on Aug. 28 and at Purdue Fort Wayne (2-10-3) on Sept. 1.
Bellarmine's home opener will unfold Sept. 4 against Northern Kentucky (4-11-2), but the Knights will travel for five of the next six games. They'll head to Eastern Illinois (1-12-3) on Sept. 9 before opening ASUN play at Central Arkansas (6-4-5, 5-1-2 ASUN) on Sept. 16.
A clash against reigning ASUN Tournament and regular-season champion Lipscomb (12-2-2, 7-1) on Sept. 23 at Frazier Stadium marks Bellarmine's ASUN home debut. The Knights will follow with three more road games, traveling to IUPUI (7-7-6, Horizon League Tournament runner-up) for a Sept. 26 contest before ASUN showdowns at Queens (4-10-2, 1-5-2) on Sept. 30 and FGCU (7-4-4, 3-2-3) on Oct. 7.
Bellarmine will welcome Wright State (4-7-6) on Oct. 10 and North Florida (4-7-4, 3-3-2) for an ASUN contest Oct. 14 before its final two regular-season road games, an Oct. 17 matchup at Belmont (7-4-7) and an Oct. 21 ASUN clash at Jacksonville (3-8-4, 0-5-3).
Bellarmine will welcome ASUN counterpart Stetson (6-3-6, 4-2-2) on Oct. 28 in the season finale.
