MUNCIE, In. – The Bellarmine University men's tennis team accumulated 17 total wins over the weekend at the Ball State Invitational, earning 11 singles wins and six doubles victories.
On Saturday, Bellarmine opened the event against Butler in doubles action, topping the Bulldogs two wins to one. The Knights followed with four more wins over Ball State in singles play before ending the day with four more wins, this time over Xavier in another singles session.
Sunday saw the Knights reeking having in doubles action as they opened with a 2-1 slate against Ball State before sweeping Xavier 3-0. Bellarmine wrapped up its weekend with a solid 3-3 split with Butler in singles play.
Senior
Jack Batchelor and junior
Matthew Nice led the way for the Knights, each going 6-0 on the weekend. The pair was 3-0 together in doubles action while also winning all three of their singles matches on their own.
Junior
Vineet Ramesh continued his solid play this fall with a 4-2 record, winning a pair of doubles matches and a pair of singles. Ramesh's playing partner, junior
Eli Wood, went 1-2 in singles play and 3-3 overall.
Sophomore
Louie Fletcher joined Batchelor and Nice in the undefeated singles club, going 2-0. In doubles, Fletcher, paired with senior
Brent Reynolds, went 1-2.
The Knights will take a few weeks off before competing again when they head to West Lafayette, In. for the ITA Regionals at Purdue University. The event, a six-day affair, will begin on Wednesday, October 16
th and last through Monday, October 21
st.
