Batchelor, Nice tally three wins each at ITA Regionals

WEST LAFAYETTE, In. – Senior Jack Batchelor and junior Matthew Nice notched three wins apiece at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships last week held at Purdue University.
 
Batchelor and Nice tallied a singles win each before combining for two wins in doubles action. Batchelor topped Belmont's Eli Mizerski 6-0, 7-5 in the main draw while Nice bested Lipscomb's Oliver Thoeny in consolation play. In doubles, the pair won their first two matches over opponents from Belmont (8-7) and Eastern Kentucky (8-2) before falling in the sweet sixteen to a pair from Indiana.
 
In other consolation singles matches, sophomore Louie Fletcher registered a 6-2, 6-2 win over Ball State's Ian Brady while junior Vineet Ramesh tallied a 3-6, 6-4, 10-8 victory over Enrique Pena of Louisville.
 
The Knights will conclude their fall schedule October 25-27 when they travel to Cleveland, OH for the Cleveland State Invitational.
