TOWSON, Md. –
Anna Crump scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season with just under four minutes remaining against Towson Sunday afternoon, but the Bellarmine field hockey team ultimately fell 2-1.
Crump, who became the Knights all-time leader in starts on Friday, increased her team-leading points total to 14.
Luna Tuncay inserted on the penalty corner ahead of Crump's goal and earned her second assist of the season.
Shannon Quaile tallied the first goal of the game of a Tigers penalty corner halfway through the third quarter. She was assisted by Lexi Bove and Lydia Bennett. Sarah Hatfield netted the game winner just over two minutes after Crump's goal with just 88 seconds remaining.
Towson (6-9, 1-4 CAA) owned a 12-1 advantage on penalty corners and also outshot Bellarmine 23 to 6, 13 to 5 on goal.
Kailey Workman recorded 11 saves on the afternoon, her fifth game with double-digit saves this season and seventh of her career.
Tessa Scheenstra made four stops in front of the cage for the Tigers.
Bellarmine (3-11, 1-5 ASUN) heads back on the road next Friday as they take on Kent State at 3 p.m. ET.
