LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Bellarmine men's basketball team returns to Freedom Hall Wednesday night to face Stetson. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET.

Bellarmine (6-18, 2-7 ASUN) will look to get back on track against the ASUN's current second-place team after Queens halted their two-game winning streak on Saturday, 85-75.

Senior guard Bash Wieland and junior forward Langdon Hatton have put together solid stretches for the Knights of late. Wieland led Bellarmine with 17 points Saturday at Queens and is averaging 19.4 points per game in five contests since returning from a broken left pinkie. He also recorded a career-high three steals at Queens and has seven steals in his last four games.

Hatton scored 15 points on Saturday and is shooting 59.5 percent (50-for-84) from the field over his last eight games (15.8 points per game). He is also distributing on offense in addition to shooting at a high percentage, averaging 2.5 assists over his last six games after averaging 0.9 assists in his first 18 games.

Stetson (14-10, 6-3 ASUN) will be making their third and final stop on a three-game road swing after dropping a 79-72 decision at North Alabama last Thursday and bouncing back to take down Central Arkansas 73-62 in overtime on Saturday.

The Hatters possess the ASUN's top scorer in Jalen Blackmon, who is averaging 20.6 points per game. The junior guard is second in the conference at shooting from distance, connecting on 39.4 percent of his three-point attempts. He scored his 1,000th career point Thursday.

Blackmon is flanked by a pair of seniors in Stephan Swenson and Alec Oglesby. Swenson averages 12.5 points and is the league's leading distributor at 6.3 assists per game. Oglesby, like Blackmon, is another sharpshooter, averaging 41.5 percent from beyond the arc, though he does not qualify for the ASUN lead.

"Stetson possesses a terrific three-deep veteran backcourt that scores at all three levels with two quality big men inside," said Bellarmine head coach Scott Davenport. "They have tremendous balance that one would expect from a lineup starting three seniors and two juniors. Their ability to score inside and outside makes them very difficult to defend."

The Hatters are allowing opponents to score just 71.0 points per game, second in the ASUN. Six-foot-11 center Aubin Gateretse is a big reason why. The junior Belgian is fourth in the ASUN averaging 7.0 rebounds per game and tied for second averaging 1.4 blocks per game. Senior forward Josh Smith rounds out Stetson's starting five. The senior shot 57.5 percent from the field as a junior, but missed the first 14 games of this season with a knee injury.

"They make it very difficult to score and don't allow second chance opportunities," Davenport said.
