BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The Bellarmine University men's tennis team powered to a 7-0 win over Austin Peay in Atlantic Sun Conference action Tuesday at the Michael O. Buchanon Park Indoor Tennis Facility.
Bellarmine (7-10, 2-3 ASUN) pocketed the doubles point against Austin Peay (5-9, 0-5) as junior
Jack Batchelor and sophomore
Matthew Nice defeated Sota Minami and Aeneas Schaub 6-2 at No. 1, and freshman
Wynn Shioi and sophomore
Vineet Ramesh rolled 6-0 over Glen Arnet and Javier Tortajada at No. 3.
Bellarmine then proceeded to sweep the six singles contests. Batchelor (No. 1), Ramesh (No. 3) and freshman
Louie Fletcher (No. 4) won in straight sets while Nice (No. 2) and Shioi (No. 6) were victorious in three sets and junior
Xavier Ecarma (No. 5) triumphed in a super tiebreaker.
Bellarmine will host North Florida at 2:30 p.m. (ET) April 5 in an ASUN matchup in the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex.
