SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Bellarmine wrestler Grant O'Dell was named to the 2024 Southern Conference All-Freshman Team, as announced Thursday by the league office.
 
O'Dell (165) was a powerhouse for the Knights this season, going 28-6 overall and 14-6 against Division I competition. The North Liberty, Iowa native earned the All-Freshman nod after a 6-2 year against SoCon opponents. In conference play, O'Dell earned four of his victories by decision, winning one via tech fall and once by major decision. His two losses were hard fought battles as he fell in overtime at The Citadel before losing a 3-1 decision against All-Conference selection Will Miller of Appalachian State.
 
The Knights will wrap up the 2023-2024 season at the NCWA National Collegiate Wrestling Championships next Saturday, March 16 in Shreveport-Bossier City, La.
