Swim begins 2024-25 campaign at Butler Double Dual

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Bellarmine University swim teams will open the 2024-25 season at the Butler Double Dual on Sunday, September 29 at Fishers High School in Fishers, In.
 
Action in the pool is set to begin at 12 p.m. ET. In addition to Bellarmine and Butler, Xavier, St. Louis and Evansville are also slated to compete.
 
The Knights are entering their second season under head coach Gord Veldman who took over the program last season after serving as an assistant to John Brucato, who built the program.
 
This season will also mark the program's second in the Atlantic Sun Conference. In their first ASUN season, the Knights finished sixth at the ASUN Championships.
 
Last season, senior Alexandra Pierce set a new woman's program record in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:18.83. On the men's side, fellow senior John Paul Metzner set a program record in the 100 freeystyle with a time of 45.74, earning the team's lone ASUN Swimmer of the Week award for the performance.
 
In addition to Pierce, the women's team includes senior Johnise Garcia; juniors Erin Dall'Agnol, Lauren Diercks and Lauren Peters; sophomores Coral Brogan, Molly Bryan, Charlotte Tully and Lily Wolfe; and freshmen Lily Epley, Micaela Godfrey, Ava Jones, Annie Leibold, Clara McIntyre, Lucy Owens, Kate Ryan and Lizzy Sosa.
 
Joining Metzner on the men's team this season is grad student Andrew Nguyen, seniors Matt Carrico and Brandon Thomas; juniors Liam Connelly, Cason Henderson, Caleb Howard, Sam Jones, Anthony Nasrallah, Jack Proctor and Drew Wolfram; sophomores Brady Campbell, Evan Dickson, Colin Jackson, Evan Jones, Reece Pennington, Britton Pianki and Parker Tanke; and freshmen Matthew Campbell, David Diercks, Logan Lacombe, and Emir Nigdelioglu.
