EVANSVILLE, Ind. –
Piper Davis tied for 14th place out 68 golfers Tuesday after the two-round Charles Braun Jr. Intercollegiate. It was the best finish of the senior's career in 19 events.
Davis' previous career best finish was also in the Hoosier State at the 2023 Butler Fall Invitational at Highland Country Club in Indianapolis where she tied for 27th out of 100 at +15. The Thompson's Station, Tenn., native holed one birdie each on Monday and Tuesday at Oak Meadow Country Club and made par on 20 holes, finishing at +13.
Rozlyn Rooke and
Raquelle Nelson tied for tops on the team with three birdies apiece. Rooke and
Abigayle Buchanan finished in the top have of the field along with Davis, both registering their best finishes of the season.
Bellarmine tied for seventh at the event out of 12 teams, their best finish of the fall season through four events.
Belmont's Chloe Tarkany earned medalist honors at +1, two shots better than teammate Sloane Biddle. The Bruins' Page Hammarstrom also finished in the top five at fourth overall, rising 21 spots on Tuesday by shooting an even-par 72.
The Belmont trio helped their squad to the team medal at +23, 27 better than second-place Illinois-Chicago.
