COLUMBUS, Ohio — Four Ohio State players scored in double figures as the Buckeyes defeated the Bellarmine University women's basketball team 90-33 on Thursday at Value City Arena.
Ohio State (2-0), which is ranked No. 25 in the USA Today WBCA Poll, set the tone early by building a big lead in the first quarter. Jaloni Cambridge, who was recognized on the Naismith Trophy Women's College Player of the Year Watch List, led the Buckeyes with 18 points.
Sophomore forward
Kayce Hyman paced Bellarmine (1-2) with eight points. Senior center
Patricia Sherrill grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.
Ohio State, which was an NCAA Tournament team last season, hit 42.7 percent of its shots from the floor and 78.3 percent of its free throws. Although Bellarmine generated quality looks over the course of the game, the Knights never found their shooting touch for any long stretches and also struggled from the charity stripe.
Bellarmine will host Miami (OH) at 2 p.m. (ET) Sunday.
