LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Bellarmine volleyball kicked off its final homestand of the regular season, falling to Central Arkansas 25-22, 25-10, 25-13 in straight sets on Friday night in Knights Hall.
With the loss, the Knights move to 11-16 on the season and 5-10 in Atlantic Sun Conference play. The win improves Central Arkansas' record to 15-11 overall and 12-4 in league play.
Bellarmine battled in the first set, coming back from a 12-7 deficit to tie the set at 13-13 before coming up just short at the end of the stanza. In the second and third, it was all Sugar Bears as they completed the sweep to finish the season with back-to-back wins as they prepare for the ASUN Tournament.
Junior
Natalie Bland led the Knights with nine kills and nine digs in the match, adding a block to her line. Redshirt freshman Mya Whit was second on the team with six kills, adding one dig and one block. Senior
Kylie Van Hoy tallied 22 assists, six digs and two kills.
As a team, Bellarmine turned in four aces and four blocks.
Up next, the Knights will celebrate senior day as they play their final match of the regular season on Saturday, November 15 against North Alabama in Knights Hall.
