Men's tennis heads to Ball State Invite for final event of the fall

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Bellarmine University men's tennis team will conclude its fall tournament schedule this weekend, heading to Muncie, IN for the Ball State Invite Friday, November 7 to Sunday, November 9.

The Knights will join the host Cardinals in a field with Xavier, Dayton, IU Indy and Butler.

Competition will begin each day at 8 am E.T. at 1st Serve Muncie, the home of Ball State tennis. Friday's schedule will feature four doubles matches followed by two rounds of singles play. On Saturday, 32 singles matches will be played along with eight doubles competitions. Winners will be crowned on Sunday in with a Flight A and Flight B champion in both singles and doubles.

This weekend, head coach Will Davis will send out seniors Matthew Nice and Zak Vince, junior Eli Wood and freshmen Sebastian Baumann, Ryan Parkins and Colby Berson. Davis will pair Nice and Baumann together along with Wood and Parkins and Vince and Berson joining forces. All six men will also play singles.

In their last time out, four Knights competed at the Conference Individual Tournament, hosted by North Florida. Seniors Vineet Ramesh and Nice earned top billing with their effort in doubles action. The duo earned a second-place finish, taking down the No. 1 seeded duo out of UNF in the second round before falling to UNA in the finals. Nice added a win in singles, the only one for the Knights as Baumann and Parkins came up winless.
