Knights assault record book in 93-65 road throttling of North Florida

Treadwell piles up career-high 29 points

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Bellarmine University women's basketball team completed a Sunshine State sweep.

And the Knights left no doubt about accomplishing that mission Saturday afternoon at UNF Arena.

Jumping on North Florida from the outset, Bellarmine soared to a record-breaking 93-65 romp over the Ospreys in Atlantic Sun Conference action.

Bellarmine (17-12, 8-8 ASUN) established a pair of new D1-era program records, one for most points scored against a D1 opponent and another for margin of victory in an ASUN game. With the throttling of North Florida (4-25, 0-16), the Knights swept their two contests this week in the Sunshine State after also defeating Jacksonville while improving to 6-2 in conference road games.

Skylar Treadwell's monster performance included a career-high 29 points, 12 rebounds and a career-high-tying six assists for Bellarmine, which has won three of four. It was the senior forward's third double-double in the last four games and her eighth overall this season. She was 10-for-16 from the floor and 9-of-10 from the FT line.

Senior guard Hope Sivori recorded her first double-double of the season with 15 points and a career-high 11 rebounds. Junior guard Miyah Brown, who notched 14 points and eight rebounds, and senior guard Hayley Harrison, who supplied 13 points and seven boards, were also in the double-double vicinity.

Bellarmine's 49.3-percent shooting clip from the floor was its best in ASUN play and top output against a D1 opponent this season. Many of the Knights' 16 assists were textbook passes leading to easy layups, with BU amassing 44 points in the paint.

The domination continued on the boards, where Bellarmine held a 45-28 superiority. The Knights routinely capitalized on extra opportunities, parlaying 13 offensive rebounds into 25 second-chance points.

Bellarmine built a 10-point lead in the first quarter and continued the onslaught in the second before taking a 45-26 lead into the break. From there, a North Florida rally was not in the cards, as the Knights' already-robust advantage swelled to 34 in the third period.

Bellarmine will host Lipscomb at 6:30 p.m. (ET) Thursday in its regular-season home finale. The Knights will celebrate Senior Day.
