LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Bellarmine University men's tennis team continued its ASUN win streak, topping Austin Peay 4-0 in its final home match of the season at the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex.
The Knights (7-9, 3-3 ASUN) have now won three conference matches in a row, setting a new season-best streak.
Bellarmine started the match with wins on courts two and three in doubles.
Matthew Nice and
Vineet Ramesh got things started with a 6-1 victory on court two before
Jack Batchelor and
Brent Reynolds secured the point with a 6-4 win on court three.
Moving into singles, the Knights continued to dominate the day. Batchelor led off at No. 1 singles, taking down his opponent 6-0, 6-1 to move to 2-0 on the day.
On court two, Nice battled for a 6-4, 6-4 win, also notching his second win of the match. Ramesh sealed the day at No. 3 singles as he cruised to a 6-1, 6-4 win for his second win. During Bellarmine's win streak, Ramesh has led the way, turning in a perfect 6-0 record, winning three doubles and three singles matches.
The remainder of the singles matches went unfinished as Bellarmine had already clinched a win with a 4-0 lead.
Up next, Bellarmine will take some time off before hitting the road for its final two matches of the season.
