LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Point guard Triniti Ralston, who ranked among the Ohio Valley Conference's elite in steals and assists last season, has signed with the Bellarmine University women's basketball team after transferring from the University of Southern Indiana.
A Louisville native and product of Sacred Heart Academy, the 5-foot-5 Ralston is a rising junior who appeared in 67 games over two years at Southern Indiana, including 35 starts in 2024-25. Last season, she ranked second in the OVC in total steals (79, 2.3 per game) and was eighth in total assists (98, 2.8 per game) while averaging 9.1 points and 3.0 rebounds in 28.9 minutes per game.
"Triniti is the steal of the summer, and I mean that literally," Bellarmine head coach
Monique Reid said. "She's a relentless defender, true floor general and lightning fast. Her work ethic is unmatched, and we're beyond excited to welcome her back home. Triniti is the type of player that will help us move the needle to a 20-plus-win season."
Ralston experienced that level of team success at Southern Indiana, helping the Screaming Eagles sweep the OVC regular season and tournament championships in a 25-7 campaign her freshman season before helping steer them to a 23-13 mark last year. USI earned a bid to the WNIT Tournament both seasons (due to the NCAA's four-year reclassification rule, USI was not eligible for the NCAA Tournament in 2023-24).
In two seasons with the Screaming Eagles, Ralston averaged 7.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists. Last season, she scored in double figures on 14 occasions, including a 25-point outburst against Tennessee Tech in which she went 4-of-4 from 3-point land. Ralston also delivered 14 outings with four assists or more and 10 with at least three steals.
"I chose Bellarmine because I thought it would be a good fit for playing aggressively and wanting to win," Ralston said.
Ralston helped drive Sacred Heart to three consecutive KHSAA state championships from 2021-23. She was a 2023 McDonald's All-American nominee, a three-time All-State selection (two second team, one third team), a three-time first-team All-Region recipient and a three-time All-District honoree.
As a senior at Sacred Heart, Ralston distributed 5.1 assists per game while also averaging 7.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.8 steals. In addition, she earned a sixth-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles at the Kentucky state track and field meet.
