MUNCIE, In. – The Bellarmine men's tennis team dropped a tight battle in Muncie today, falling 4-3 at Ball State at 1
st Serve Muncie Tennis Center.
Bellarmine opened the match on top. In the first doubles flight, freshman
Ryan Parkins and senior
Eli Wood teamed up for a 6-1 win. On court two, senior
Matthew Nice and freshman
Colby Berson paired up for the second and clinching doubles win, coming out with a 6-4 victory. Ball State claimed a win in the third doubles match.
Moving into singles, the Cardinals flipped the script. Ball State took four wins in short order, clinching a match win.
The Knights fought to the end however as Parkins added a singles win to his day, winning 7-5, 4-6, 10-2 on court four. Berson also added a singles win to his tally, claiming a 6-4, 7-6 victory on court six.
Up next, Bellarmine will continue its season opening road trip, traveling to the University of Tennessee on January 29.
